Winterizing Tips for Your Home

• Turn water off at main supply valve outside the house unless the heating system uses water. Tag the valve - DO NOT TURN ON - WINTERIZED.
• Drain hot water heaters and shut off gas or electricity to tank.
• Put anti-freeze in toilet tanks.
• Fill all traps with anti-freeze.
• Tape shut and tag toilet bowls with DO NOT USE - WINTERIZED.
• Tag sinks and faucets - DO NOT USE.
• Set thermostat at 55-60 degrees and tag - DO NOT CHANGE.
• Check furnace to see if it is in operating condition. Light gas pilot if necessary.
